Sick Kids

I figured we are at the time of the year that all parents deal with sick kids, well even if you aren't a parent, you deal with people that allow their sick kids to spread their nasty germs everywhere.

I have 2 sick kids myself. Lets start with Nic, who is 12, and has strep. Where did he pick up strep? At that nasty, dirty, unhealthy middle school he goes to. Parents would rather send their sick kids to school, then keep them home and make them better. These said parents don't want to be inconvenienced and  they don't want to "parent" their child. They would rather allow their kids to go to school hacking, throwing up and spreading their germs. I am tired of it. I am tired of worrying if I am going to get a call, saying "Come pick your kid up cause they are sick." If the schools would stick to their policy of sending kids home when they come to school sick, then my child wouldn't have missed 8 days in the past 3 weeks. Talking about absences... yet again the schools aren't doing their jobs. If they would send the kids home, then my kid wouldn't miss school. They tell you to keep the kids home when sick, and those parents of us that do, we get threatening letters, telling us our child has missed to much school. No crap you idiots. I don't send my child to school sick, I won't infect the whole school. And if he doesn't rest, he won't get to feeling better. Figure out how to disinfect your school and my child won't miss this much. And teach your nasty kids how to wash their hands and to sneeze into their shirt sleeves. And if you are a nasty parent yourself, do us all a favor and have someone teach your child how to use proper hygiene.

Lets review.. if your child is sick. KEEP THEM HOME. Antibacterial hand sanitizer does NOT kill all the germs, use soap and water. If you have a job where your boss does'nt understand you have a sick child, take them to work and infect your place of business. Quit infecting my kids at school.

Nasty kids in public kill me. I watch so many kids cough and sneeze all over food, buggies/carts, wipe their noses with their fingers then touch stuff. Come on Mom/Dad. Where are you and why is your kid doing this? I am sick of going to Walmart, that might be some of the problem, and seeing kids with snot running down their face and mom/dad oblivious to it. GROSS... at least put a tissue in your pocket and wipe the nose. Your kids are just as nasty as you are, lets teach them before its to late!!

  1. Ha. I agree. Sanitizer works THREE times before it becomes ineffectual and you MUST wash your hands (with hot water and soap). You've inspired my initial determination to disinfect the shopping cart before I use it.

When I use a public toilet (this started during pregnancy), I disinfect the toilet seat, lay down the paper, use my foot to flush, walk like a surgeon (hands up, don't touch!) and when exiting the restroom, I use a towel to open the door and a bootie bump to keep it open after I Shaquille O'Neal the paper towel into the waste basket.

  2. Sometimes people don't have the choice to leave kids with runny noses home, though, so these kids WILL be out in public. A lot of kids' noses run for 3-4 months straight, so it'd be impossible to leave them home all the time. But I completely agree that the parents DO have the choice to wipe their kids noses and make sure they wash frequently and sneeze into their elbow. Being a responsible parent includes making sure your child's impact on the rest of the world is a respectful and responsible one.
